TVO's Ontario Election Coverage 2022
May marks the official start of the Ontario Provincial Election campaign and TVO is poised to bring you in-depth coverage and analysis of the issues that matter most to Ontarians. With special daily editions of the #onpoli podcast hosted by Steve Paikin and John Michael McGrath and Daniel Kitts’s ‘What’s ON’ column for TVO Today, we’ll be recapping what’s happened each day on the campaign trail and giving pointers for the key issues to look out for in the days ahead. And of course, The Agenda with Steve Paikin will offer election coverage every weeknight. From analysis of the leaders’ debates to interviews with candidates and conversations with Ontarians, Steve and the team will examine the issues at play and the promises from the parties. You can also tune into TVO to catch the Ontario English-language Leaders' Debate on Monday, May 16 at 6:30 pm.
Coming Soon to TVO: 'A Brief Record of My Father's Time at Sea'
Join us on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 9 pm for the world broadcast premiere of A Brief Record of My Father’s Time at Sea. Canadian filmmaker Jeanette Kong weaves together the strands of her Jamaican-Chinese identity as she recounts her father’s immigration journey from China to Jamaica—and eventually to Toronto. Drawing on her father’s eloquent journal writing, and through connecting with family around the globe, Kong paints a deeply honest portrait of the Hakka migration experience. Part personal memoir and part archival history, this is a story of courage, resilience, and sacrifice: a daughter’s loving tribute to her immigrant father and her Hakka heritage. Following the premiere, you can stream this film any time on TVO Today, TVO YouTube, and TVO streaming channels.
A Brief Record of My Father’s Time at Sea is part of TVO’s Asian History Month programming, which also includes the documentaries Migrant Dreams, Little India: Village of Dreams, My First 150 Days, Mixed Match, Ai Wei-Wei: Never Sorry, and many others. Stream these films and more any time on TVO.org.
